MidAmeriCon II:ssa järjestetyssä World Science Fiction Convention -tapahtumassa paljastettiin tämän vuoden Hugo-voittajat.
Tapahtumassa palkittiin laajasti tieteis- ja fantasiateoksia eri luokissa. Parhaaksi romaaniksi valittiin N.K. Jemisinin The Fifth Season ja parhaaksi elokuvaksi The Martian. The Martian -kirjan kirjoittanut Andy Weir valittiin puolestaan epävirallisesti 2014-2015 parhaaksi uudeksi kirjoittajaksi. Netflix sai oman osansa menestyksestä, kun Jessica Jones -sarjan jakso valittiin parhaaksi lyhyeksi näytelmäteokseksi.
Alla kaikki Hugo 2016 -ehdokkaat ja -voittajat. Kategorioiden voittaja on merkitty tummenetusti.
